HEA RANKS AFRICA RESEARCH UNIVERSITY AS TOP UNIVERSITY IN ZAMBIA
The Higher Education Authority (HEA), a public institution in Zambia mandated to register and regulate Universities
has ranked Africa Research University (ARU) as one of the top Universities qualified to offer upto doctorate level.
The HEA after its audit of Universities has classified ARU as one of the few Universities in Zambia that is qualified
to offer programmes upto level ZQF 10 which is doctorate (PHD) level on Zambia Qualification framework.
This is contained in a letter dated January 31, 2022 by HEA Director General Prof. Stephen Simukanga to the Vice
Chancellor of Africa Research University.
“Based on findings of the audit for each institution, Universities have been classified into four tiers which are ZQF7,
ZQFB, 2QF9 and 2QF10 institution,” reads the letter in parts. “In this view your institution can offer learning
programmes leading to qualifications upto ZQF10.”
This is the highest learning level.

All Students are required to present their Proposals/ progress of their studies during the colloquium September on day Three(3). AUGUST 2021 RESIDENTIAL AND EXAMINATION The August 2021 residential school remains compulsory to all students in the School of Law, Business and Development Studies and Postgraduates. Examinations are compulsory for all schools including Education. The venue for the residential is at the Main Campus, Thorn Park Lusaka. The School of Law, Business and Development Studies Residential dates are 23rd - 27th August,2021 and Examination Dates: 30th August – 3 rd September 2021. The student service Office will be open on Sunday 23rd August 2021 from 12:00hours to 17:00hours The Postgraduate Residential will commence on 30th August – 3 rd September,2021 and Examinations, 6 th – 8 th September 2021

Dear Student The purpose of this communique is to inform you of a change in the ownership of University of Africa. The new owners of UoA are Prof Dr J Malan, and Prof DJ Du Plessis. Both are involved in the Zambian education environment for a span of more than 20 years. They are also shareholders at Africa Research University, a university registered with the HEA of Zambia. UoA is a university with a long, rich and colourful history spanning more than ten years. The UoA alumni are found in all walks of life, not only in Zambia, but throughout the globe. They are found in the corridors of government, schools, corporates and in various circumstances where they serve the community. This legacy will be continued, and we will constantly improve the service to our students to empower them to step up in their various environments where they live and work. There is no doubt that the impact Covid-19 must still be determined, and our way of living, learning and serving will change for a long period of time, if not forever. The fall-out of this virus is unknown, and therefore we will communicate to you, our students, how we will deal with examinations, graduations and residentials. Embracing new means of doing old things will evolve, the answer to which I do not know as yet. Rest assured that we will continue to provide you with the best possible uninterrupted service available. Our staff are committed to provide you, our students, with friendly and excellent service. We will regularly update our students with exam dates, venues and formats. We will shortly begin to arrange the graduation as scheduled, circumstances permitting. We will timeously communicate with you regarding dates and venues, in order to allow you to prepare, whether it is an examination, a graduation or a residential. Our offices remain opened, and our staff are available on a daily basis to answer your queries, and wherever it becomes necessary, to meet you and solve your queries and provide you with a service.
